WebbIt started as fainting for shots in elementary school and now I feel dizzy even thinking about blood draws and upcoming medical appointments. At my last ultrasound my OB was pointing out the eye sockets and I had to ask her to stop. This phobia is more than a dislike of needles, I have panic days before a blood draw and sob after every appointment. You may be afraid of doctors or medical procedures because of past trauma. Or fear may stem from the connection to blood, injuries and injections (needles).

But what i noticed is that when humans are really worried about something blood pressures rises. So ever since my bad experience I was afraid of getting my B/P taken. If I'm anxious it can easily go up to 180/90 it's pretty scary! If I can relax it takes about 2 mins to go back to around 140/80.
