On my 1980 C&N39 the veneered teak is what would have been described as 'blonde' teak (ref: Odyssey Marine many years ago when I enquired about teak-faced ply). I remember buying to teak faced ply back in the late '70s for my Sadler 25 and the ply's teak veneer was dark, almost acrid.
